Fuvahmulah airport construction ‘begins next two-three months’

Fuvahmulah airport construction will commence within the next two-three months.18 parties applied to clear the land in south of Dhoodi Gamu ward near the harbour, when invited for bids last week. AIMA Construction has been awarded the contract for the 1100-metre runway airport.Under the agreement between the government and Platinum Holdings, the company should finish the work and handover the airport by June 2011.

Aima Construction Private Limited has won the bid to build 500 flats in Hulhumalé’, after they proposed the lowest price of US $ 17,898,225.25. A total of 7 parties presented bids for this project. According to Hulhumalé’ Development Corporation, Tender Evaluation Board of Ministry of Finance of Finance and Treasury announced this on 6th June.
